College Basketball

What a day we had in College Hoops yesterday.  There were lots of upset's around the country.  We had Kansas, Oklahoma, Clemson, Uconn, and Pittsburgh all going down.  Oklahoma State beat Oklahoma in a very good game by the score of 71-70.  But I don't think anything will beat what took place in Madison Square Garden.  Syracuse knocked off Uconn 127-117 in 6 Overtimes!  For Syracuse Jonny Flynn played a Whopping 67 Minutes!  He had 11 assists and scored 34 points, going 16-16 from the free throw line.  The game started at about 9:30 Pm and lasted until about 1:30 Am.  This was definitely an instant classic.  Today there will be plenty of good games, and bubble teams trying to clinch a bid.  The Selection Show is at 6:00 Pm Eastern time on Sunday.  It should be a great couple of days.

Texas A&M

Wow, Texas A&M was up by 22 against Texas Tech and Tech came back and won. I still think A&M is in but this will hurt their seeding.

Bubble Watch

Conference Tournament Play really gets going Tomorrow, As the Big Ten, ACC, and Sec get Their Tournament's underway, and the C-USA, Mountain West, Wac, Atlantic 10, PAC 10, Big East, and Big 12, continue With Quarterfinal action. Lots of Bubble Teams will be playing themselves in and out of the Tournament in the next couple of days. Also Lots of 1 Bid Leagues will decide Who their representative in the NCAA Tournament will be.

Teams on the Bubble
ACC Maryland-Needs to beat NC State and then Wake Forest to get in.
Virginia Tech-Bubble Elimination game with Miami (FL) on Thursday, Must win that and then beat North Carolina to get in.
Miami (FL)-Same Situation as Virginia Tech, Must Beat North Carolina.
Boston College-Good Position, win over Virginia would make them a near lock.

Big East Providence-Probably needs a win over Louisville on Thursday to feel good about its chances.

Big 12 Oklahoma State-Is a lock with the win over Iowa State.
Texas A&M-In as long as they do not blow a big lead against Texas Tech.
Kansas State-Needs at run to the Big 12 Finals which would include wins over Texas, and Kansas.

Atlantic 10 Dayton-One win and they are a Lock.
Rhode Island-Needs a trip to the finals to have a shot.
Temple-Also needs a trip to the finals to have any chance.

Big 10 Michigan-Win over Iowa might do it, Does not want to take any chances though.
Ohio State-In no matter what.
Wisconsin-Win over Ohio State would seal the deal, should be in even with a loss.
Minnesota-Does not want to lose to Northwestern, Win might put them in depending on the rest of the bubble.
Northwestern-Needs 2 wins and then would be in good shape to get their 1st at-large bid.
Penn State-Can not afford to lose to Indiana, Might need to beat Purdue too.

MVC Creighton-Needs to have other bubble teams lose and hope the committee likes their RPI and Conference Record.

MWC New Mexico-Wins over Wyoming and Utah would put them in.
UNLV-Needs to beat SDSU and BYU to have a good shot.
SDSU-Elimination game vs UNLV and then needs to beat BYU.

Pac 10 Arizona-Win over Arizona State would put them in, loss would put them in doubt.

SEC Florida-Needs 2 wins to have a good shot.
Auburn-Probably needs to beat Florida and get to the Championship game.
Kentucky-At-Large hopes are all but gone, But if they get to the Conference Finals, Who Knows?
South Carolina-2 wins would do it, otherwise They could very easily slip out of the field.

Wac Utah State-A trip to the Conferece Finals and a close loss to Nevada might get them in. They would be wise to Win the Wac Tournament.

WCC Saint Mary's-Don't think they are worthy the way they played against Gonzaga, But they still have hope if other bubble teams lose.
